Jobita "Lupe" Perez Hernandez (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Jobita “Lupe” Perez Hernandez, 90, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father David Contreras officiating with burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A rosary will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 5:30 to 7:30 at the funeral home.

Jobita was born on February 15, 1932 in Silao Guanajuato, Mexico to Joaquin and Maria (Garcia) Perez. Jobita migrated with her parents at the age of 13 to San Antonio, TX. She came to Tulia in 1957 and worked around the area in agriculture, as cook and dishwasher at the El Camino and Shamrock Café. She loved to listen to music, dance and play Mexican Bingo. She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joaquin and Maria Perez; her husband, Angel G. Hernandez, Sr.; her daughter, Ramona Moncado and Christina Perez; her son, Julian P. Hernandez; three brothers, Juan, Manuel and Geronimo Perez; her son-in-law, Mario Mendoza and five great, great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Rebeca Perez Chavez of Mexico City, Mexico, Ernestina Hernandez and husband Felipe Z. Hernandez Sr., Celestina Mendoza, Mary Helen Hernandez, Angel Hernandez, Jr. all of Tulia and Juanita P. Hernandez and Jesse Sanchez of Amarillo, 21 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and one great, great, great grandchild.
