Tulia, Texas-John Harman Elliff passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 in Tulia, Texas. No services will be held at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral DIrectors of Tulia. John was born on March 26, 1938 in Tulia, Texas to Mary Harman Elliff and John Chester Elliff. He grew up on Victory Jersey Farm, the top dairy in the nation, with his six siblings. John lived in Tulia until graduating from Tulia High School in 1956. He then attended Texas Tech University. He married Nelda June Rousseau on March 9, 1959. John worked for the Tulia Police Department from 1968 to 1971. He then moved to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1972 and began work as a U. S. Customs Security Office in the Sky Marshall division. When the Sky Marshal division was phased out, he served as a U.S. Customs Patrol Officer in Nogales, Arizona. John then served as a Customs Special Agent in Washington, D.C. and then subsequently retired as a Supervisory Special Agent in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1995. He and Nelda returned to live in Tulia after his retirement. John was a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in the Tulia Lodge in all positions. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Tulia and served as an Exodus Volunteer. He is survived by his wife, Nelda of Tulia, two daughters, Diana Lambdin and her husband, Donny of Rogersville, Tennessee and Gloria Godo and her husband, Ted of Huntsville, Texas. Grandchildren include Thomas John Lambdin, Leah Reeves, Kyrie Lambdin, Alise Switzer and Alexandra Polizzi. Great grandchildren include Kayla and Wyatt Lambdin, Evelyn and Meredith Reeves, and Jacob Palmisano and Eames Switzer. John is also survived by five sisters, Catherine Hoodenpyle and husband, Jimmy, Vicky Driskill and husband, Jack, Lorene Cole, Dana Sullivan, all of Lubbock and Becky Tucker and husband, Daryl of Tulia.
