Jose Rodriguez, a devoted son, husband, father and Popo, was born on April 21, 1949, in Castroville, Texas to Abdon and Nicolasa (Espino) Rodriguez. At a tender age of 10, Jose courageously sacrificed his schooling to work and provide for his family by shining shoes in Castroville. As a teenager, he and his brothers toiled as migrant workers in the fields, gathering cotton. Jose later settled in Bridgeport, Texas, where he honed his construction skills, eventually owning and operating Triple J Construction in Tulia.
On December 23, 1967, Jose exchanged vows with Felipa in the Saint Williams Church, solidifying a partnership filled with love and dedication. Throughout his life, Jose actively participated in his community, being an avid member of softball teams named "Los Diablos" and "Los Padres." He was particularly passionate about organizing events and spearheading the church's annual Jamaica festivities for over two decades. A devout member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, Jose played an integral role within the Rocha and Rodriguez families, wholeheartedly embracing his role as the family's cornerstone. Known for his humor and light-hearted nature, Joe was the life of the party and the favorite uncle to many.
Deeply generous, Jose was known for his unwavering compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His diligent work ethic persisted until his illness ultimately prohibited him from his usual activities, a testament to his tireless dedication.
Jose's unconditional love for his family and friends remained unwavering, consistently prioritizing the well-being of those he held dear.
