Josefina Longoria (Plainview)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Josefina (José) Longoria, 79 on Sunday, April 13, 2025. A visitation will be held on April 17, 2025 at 4:00 P.M. with a rosary to follow.

It saddens us that we have lost the other half of our Azteca Cafe's founders and that she leaves behind a legacy of serving the local community of Floydada and surrounding areas. José was a sister to some, an aunt to a few, a mother to three, a grandmother to eight, and a great grandmother to three, and a friend to anyone who walked through our doors.

My grandma wanted to bring a different taste to Floydada many years ago and today we have continued to stand here for 53 years. She also taught me the recipes that I know to heart now and that haven't been changed since they came up with them all those many years ago.

There was never a day she wasn't here at the restaurant cackling in the back and "Managing" us from her chair in the kitchen. I was glad to be able to teach her about modern changes of the restaurant industry and was happy to learn her process of making her classic chili rellenos. It got to the point where she stopped making them because my chile rellenos were prettier. Only because she taught me well.

I want to extend a thank you from the entire Longoria Family to Prairie House, Interim Hospice and everyone that has called, texted or messaged any of us during this time.

With the legacy of Azteca Cafe, I also want to say thank you to everyone past, current, and future for stepping through our doors and enjoying the many different taste of home. I will continue everything they dreamed of all those many years ago and bring in new memories and experiences.

She was preceded in death her parents, Santiago & Maria Louisa Robles; her husband, Servando Longoria, Sr. and her brother, Santiago Robles, Jr.

Mrs. Longoria is survived by three sons, Servando Longoria, Jr. & wife JoAnn, Leonel Longoria and Anthony Robles & wife Kristina; two brothers, Oscar Robles and Jose Robles; one sister, Antonia Falcon; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
