Tulia, Texas—Juan Manuel Martinez, 73, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Cremation services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Juan was born on September 27, 1946 in Mission, Texas to Santos Martinez and Herlinda Lopez. He met Maria Del Refugio Castillo in Lockney, Texas and got married on January 20, 1964. Juan worked for Taylor Evans for many years until his retirement. He was a hardworking man who always provided for his family and was a member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Maria Martinez, one brother; Jose Guadalupe Martinez.

He is survived by three daughters; Elizabeth DeLeon of Tulia, Herlinda Benavidez of Kress and Yesenia Turner of San Antonio, four sons; Santos Martinez of Tulia, Manuel Martinez of Tulia, Jesus Martinez of Tulia and Jose Martinez of Amarillo, three brothers; Florentino Vallejo, Roman Vallejo and Jesus Valdez all of Mission, Texas and three sisters; Martha Valdez, Matilda Valdez and Anita Valdez all of Mission, 26 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
