Juan Ramirez Zamora, Sr., 73, a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Kornerstone Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Viewing will be Monday, October 5, 2020 from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was born on June 2, 1947 to the late Savastiana Ramirez Zamora and Luciano Zamora in Donna, Texas. Juan married his wife, Maria Zuniga Zamora, on April 22, 1967 and three boys and four girls were born to join their union. Zamora had three occupations during his lifetime. His longest employment started in 1980 with Excel Meat Solutions. He worked in load out and would work all shift with the cattle. He eventually retired in 1995 due to his back injury. He stayed home with his wife and loved to go to Walmart and drive his 1998 Cadillac Eldorado. He would sit on the front porch daily and wave at the traffic going by. He loved his community and his home. He loved to conversate with anyone he came across and loved to hand the littles a dollar to see them smile. Zamora was diagnosed in September 2020 with Renal Cell Carcinoma after a few weeks of hospitalization and testing. In addition to his wife Maria, he is survived by his sons, Luis Zamora and Johnny and wife Jacquie Zamora, his daughters, Leticia and Vinny Herbert, Irmalinda, Terry, and Sonia; eighteen grandchildren: Kenneth, John, Christopher, Alyssa, Elian, Crystal, Veronica, Kevin, Davin, Victoria, Caleb, Kennedy, Mariah, Michelle, Brandon, Juliann, Adron, and Aleyah; and five great-grandchildren: Jayce Luciano, Wesley Vaughn, Neveah Faye, Wyatt Raul, and Bethlynn Rei. He is preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Andres; his brother, Jasinto and his sister Lourdes.
