Ms. Juana Huitron Longoria was born on February 6, 1941 in San Ignacio, Praxedis, G. Guerro, Chihuahua. She was the fourth eldest child of nine born to parents Romelia Martinez and Gabriel Huitron. While growing up her best memories were of her humble and very loving parents who gave and did their all to help her as well as help raise some of her children in Mexico when she worked. As being one of the eldest daughters, she was responsible for helping care for her younger siblings whom she adored. After marriage Juana migrated with her own family to the United States and established her life-long home in Edmonson,Texas. She was the epitome of a “mother.” She truly embodied everything that Lord Jesus Christ wanted her to love and guide her nine children. Juana lived for her children whom she adored. Her children were her reason for living.

Juana worked at Covenant Hospital Plainview for twenty-two years as a housekeeper. She was a very loyal employee and took pride in her work. She enjoyed the friendship and laughter with her worker who became her life-long friends. Juana enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always prepared and kept her house very clean in preparation to welcome her children. Anyone who knew Juana, knew that when going to her house, they would be well fed before leaving. Juana was an amazing cook, baker, great gardener, loved quilting. Her smile thrived when seeing all her grass, trees, plants and flowers flourish. Juana still had her childhood sense of humor. She liked to joke and laugh. She was loving and silly and made her kids smile and die with laughter.

Juana’s passion was serving the Lord. She was a devout member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She served as a Guadalupana and Cursillista. She attended prayer group every week, went to many retreats, and went on a church trip. She will be most remembered as a servant of Christ. Juana’s goal was to always better serve and give her life to the Lord. She maintained herself in prayer throughout the day continuously and never failed to pray the rosary daily; even prayed the rosary numerous times daily. Her devotion and strength held the family together through difficult times. Juana’s life is a precious blessing to all that were fortunate to know her. Her memories will be cherished and her legacy will continue through her prayerful hands.

Juana is survived by her elder brother Alfonso Huitron; three sisters, Luz Huitron Almeria, Lydia Huitron Meza, Maria Elena Huitron; nine children: Oscar Longoria of Plainview, TX, Olivia Lockart of Mesa, AZ; Martin Longoria of Colorado Springs, CO; Estela Longoria of Plainview, TX; Esperanza Gracia of Colorado Springs, CO; Gerardo Longoria of Temple, TX; Raul Longoria of Plainview, TX; Belia Longoria of Rowlett, TX; and Gloria Longoria of Edmonson, TX. Juana had a grand extension of her children that consists of 22 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Romelia Huitron; her brothers, Gustavo Huitron, Gabriel Huitron, and Jesus Manuel Huitron; her sister, Dolores Huitron Longoria, her grandchildren, Nicole Alfaro and Matthew Gabriel Smith. Juana’s request to all would be to seek and serve the Lord. Her wish was for all to have peace, love and faith.

She will be dearly missed and her loving smile and laughter will never be forgotten.
