Tulia, Texas—Juanita Herrera, 74, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 in Amarillo, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Church of the Comforter with Rev. Gilbert Del Toro officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Juanita was born on November 15, 1943 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Juan and Lorenza San Miguel. Juanita was a pageant queen in Carrizo Springs and traveled to many places. She later moved to Tulia and married Isaac Herrera and they had three beautiful children. She was a proud mother, wife and grandmother. Juanita loved to dance and was an amazing cook. She was a member of the Bethel Church in Amarillo. She is preceded in death by her parents: Juan and Lorenza San Miguel; two sisters: Maria Ledesma and Emma Reyes, two brothers: Juan San Miguel Jr. and Pedro San Miguel. She is survived by her husband: Isaac Herrera of Amarillo, her children: Jacqueline Blue and husband James of Amarillo, Sonny Herrera and wife Sofia of Amarillo, Gill Herrera and Amanda Ballin of Amarillo and Adrian Herrera of Florida, one sister: Petra Santos of Pearsall, Texas, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
