Juanita Kaker Cannon, 92, of Plainview passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Kornerstone Chapel with Silas Short officiating and Gabe Moudy, chaplain of Tradition’s Hospice assisting. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
Nita as she was known to most, was born on September 20, 1929 in Memphis, Texas to Garner and Madge Kaker. Her family moved to Hale Center when she was a Junior in High School and she graduated from Hale Center High School. She married Don Cannon on August 21, 1949 in Hale Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Tom Kaker; her sisters, Donella Rae and Gerry Borchardt; her husband, Don Cannon; her daughter, Barbara Townsen; her son, Ricky Cannon and a grandson, Chris Stokes.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sue Warner and husband Brad of Fort Worth, Vicki Stokes and husband Steve of Canyon, Sandra Davis and husband Arden of Lubbock, Linda Norris and husband Kim of Plainview; her son, David Cannon and his wife Carla of Plainview. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren as well as extended family and friends.
