Karen Washington (Tulia)

Karen Washington, 75, of Tulia, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 19,2024 in the Tulia Methodist Church with Rev. Sammy Espinosa officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors Tulia. 

A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Thursday, July 18,2024 at the funeral home. 

Karen was born in Dallas, Texas on January 10,1949 to D.B. and Marie Thomas. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1967 and later attended West Texas State University. Karen spent many years working at various retail stores, most notably at Moore than Medicine before her well-deserved retirement. Karen was lovingly married to Ronald "Buddy" Washington on December 16,1989 in Tulia. She had a variety of hobbies including cross-stitching, jewelry making and fishing with her beloved husband, Buddy. Karen cherished spending time with her grandchildren and adored her fur baby, Acer, as well as her guinea pig, Boo. She had a deep love for her friends and most of all, her family. Karen's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her warmth, kindness and gentle spirit.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Buddy Washington of Tulia; her children, Rick Bullock and wife Beth of Amarillo and Rusty Bullock of Factoryville, Pennsylvania; her stepdaughters, Brandy White and husband Max of Happy and Brook Rea and husband Terry of Dallas; eleven grandchildren, Georgia, Wesley, Brette, Michael, Brody, Isabella, Brayden, Ashlyn, Bryson, Parker and Landyn.
