Katherine Jean Petty (Plainview)

Katherine Jean Petty, 75, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in Plainview. A private graveside service will be held at Plainview Memorial Park at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Katherine was born on January 5, 1945 to Raymond Joe and Evelyn Estelle (McCartie) Hartley in Plainview, Texas. She married Alvin Petty on October 18, 1967 in Plainview. Katherine taught school for a number of years, including teaching on the Navajo reservation in Arizona. She put her teaching career on hold to raise her two children. A loving wife and mother, she served as a pastor's wife for 41 years. She enjoyed reading, writing and artwork.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Alvin Petty of Plainview; her daughter, Rachel Petty of Floydada; her son, Jonathan Petty of Plainview; her brother, Dennis Ray Hartley of Lubbock; two granddaughters, Karissa Petty and Katie Garcia.
