Kathleen (Kathy) Foraker Yowell, 79, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in Plano, Texas. Kathy was born October 15, 1942 in Oxford, England. She emigrated with her family to the United States in 1946 and grew up in Hale Center, Texas and attended Hale Center High School. Kathy lived in Plainview for all her adult life and raised her family there. She worked in healthcare, banking, and at the Hale County Appraisal District until her retirement in July of 2015.
Kathy had a strong faith and was an active member of College Heights Baptist Church for many years, serving on various committees and preparing meals for church ministries. She supported her children’s school activities and served on the PTA, as a Girl Scout troop leader and in the church’s children’s ministry. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels for several years before and after her retirement. She loved to bake for her grandchildren and spoil her dog, Zoe and cat, KitKat.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Flo and Jack Foraker; her sister, Jackie White; niece Shaunda Venable and nephew Kyle White and great-niece Sydnee Venable.
She leaves loving memories for her daughter Lori Sisemore (Anthony) of Dumas, son Mark Yowell (Amy) of Wichita Falls, daughter Lisa Yowell Vega (Lawrence) of Richardson; grandchildren Amber Cummings (Zack) of Chandler, Ashley Henson (Clay) of Montgomery, Layton Sisemore of Lubbock, and Grayson, Layne, and Cade Yowell of Wichita Falls; great-grandchildren Ellery and Renner Henson of Montgomery; nephew Brent Yowell and niece Melissa Yowell and great-nephew Shane Venable.
Family visitation will be at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to College Heights Baptist Church, Hale County Meals on Wheels or the American Cancer Society.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, caregivers and support staff of her care team for their compassionate care during her final days.
