Kerry Jim Harris (Plainview)

Kerry Jim Harris, 57, of Plainview, Texas passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023. Memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 25, 2023 at First Baptist Church Chapel in Plainview, Texas with Mr. Lanny Voss officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held 6:00-7:30 P.M. Friday, February 24, 2023 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Kerry grew up in Kress, Texas and graduated from Kress High School in 1985. During his high school career, he played football, tennis and ran track.  He attended Texas Tech University and Wayland Baptist University. He worked in the Insurance Industry on and off for many years. He later worked in landscaping. He enjoyed industrial arts and building furniture. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Plainview, Texas. Kerry loved the outdoors and the fellowship with friends while hunting, fishing, golfing and water skiing and playing with his daughters in the pool. He taught his daughters about planting healthy food and preserving it for the future. He enjoyed cooking as a hobby too. He was  a very caring person, he took care of his grandmother, Francis while she battled cancer and ministered to many people battling addiction. 

He is preceded in death by his father James Gary Harris.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jeanie Marie Harris of Whitesboro, Kambry Kristian Harris of Plainview; his mother, Kay Harris of Plainview; one sister, Kayleen Kaiser and partner Rory Bevill of Lubbock; nephew, Chris Kaiser of Las Vegas and great nephew, Peyton Kaiser of Tulia.
