Livestream Link for Larry's Celebration of Life Larry J. McNutt, 81, of Plainview passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 13, 2023 at the Plainview Methodist Church with Pastor Russ Panzer officiating. Also a visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, March 12th from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Kornerstone. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Larry was born and raised in Hobart, Oklahoma and graduated Hobart High School in 1959. He then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma where he received his Bachelors and Masters in Education. He then went on to receive his Administrative Certification from University of Oklahoma. While teaching in Hobart, he met the love of his life RuthAnn Johnson. They were married in 1966 in Hobart. Their 1st child, Molly was born in 1968 & son Michael born in 1972.He was a member of Shortgrass Theatre Playhouse in Hobart where he was cast in various plays including Oklahoma, Wizard of Oz, South Pacific, and many others. He taught & was Principal in Hobart until 1980. Following a move to Plainview in 1980 he was Principal at Hillcrest Elementary until his retirement in 1998. They welcomed another daughter Marla, in 1982. He received his Auctioneer license in 1983 and enjoyed many years of meeting people and families through this service. Larry was a local radio personality for many years and was known as Larry "Mac" throughout the communities. He was a member of the singing group known as "3 Baptists and a Nutt". Also a very active member with the local Lions Club. Larry was an active member of First Methodist Church of Plainview, where he taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, and was Interim Music Director. His strong faith and love for Christ was present in everything he did. His hobbies included, his love for singing, auctioneering, estate sales, and avid lover of OU football and all OU sports. He lived his life loving his family and grandchildren, and supported them in everything they accomplished. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his Mother and Father-in-law, his Brother and Sister-in-law, and a nephew. Larry is survived by his wife RuthAnn of the home. His children, Molly Summers and Mark of Plainview, Mike McNutt and LeAnn of Plainview, and Marla Abbot and Gregg of Abilene. Seven grandchildren, Shelby and Amy Summers, Peyton and Preston McNutt, Ethan, Aubree, and Paxtyn Abbott. Several extended family members including nieces and nephews. Also his 3 favorite 4 legged fur babies, Scooter, Annie, and Sophie.
