Tulia, Texas—Leeland Lawrence Hackbarth, 47, passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2018 at the age of 47. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Leeland was born on May 20, 1971 in Pampa, Texas. He served as a radar operator in the US Army during Desert Storm. He attended West Texas A&M University and graduated in August of 2016 with a BBA. He was also completing an MBA from West Texas A&M. Leeland was very active in his church at the First Baptist Church of Happy, Texas. He is preceded in death by his mother, Retha Dorsey, his adopted mother, Patty Smith, his father, Edward Hackbarth, his sister, Susan Marshall and his infant brother, Sammy. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Laurie Hackbarth, his children, Dylan Hackbarth, Alexa Hackbarth and Brendan Hackbarth and his brother, Johnny Moss.
