Leo will be available for viewing at Kornerstone Funeral Directors on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Mr. Wallace was born February 8, 1939 in Morton, Texas to Marion Leo Wallace and Margaret Coley Wallace. Leo lived a fulfilling life that included hard work, great friends and a loving family that knew he cared about them. First, we must go back to the 1940’s when the Chesshir family asked to borrow a tractor from the Wallace family. According to his future wife- Wanda Chesshir Wallace, this was the first time she saw little Leo Wallace and it was him, at around the age of 8, driving that tractor from the Wallace’s to the Chesshir’s. Those two ended up getting married about 10 years later, and Leo continued driving heavy equipment. He spent the next 50 years in road construction where he undoubtedly left a lasting impression on the hired hands, contracted subs, and numerous State Department workers. On the other hand, there was another side to what was going on besides work: motorcycle rallies, trips to the mountains, lake trips and music festivals. Leo would spend the next 50 years with Wanda, leaving a lasting impression on each other, their friends, their children, and grandchildren. After Leo retired from work, he “rededicated” his life to still doing what he loved to do. Leo was preceded in death by Wanda in 2008; his only sibling, Barbara Gibson on April 9th of this year; and his mother and father. Leo is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Buckner and husband Rocky; son, Randy Wallace and wife Kim; son, Rickey Wallace and wife Lee; two granddaughters Mia Rynn and Cleo Maeve Wallace and numerous special friends.
