Linda Hayhurst (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Linda Hayhurst, 61, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Central Church of Christ with Mr. Kent Hayhurst officiating. Services are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Linda was born on January 11, 1961 in Tulia to Richard Culifer and Margaret (Wesley) Pierce. She married the love of her life Kelly Hayhurst in 1978 with a promise to Linda’s parents that he would help her graduate from Tulia High School and graduated in 1979. Kelly and Linda started their family in 1980 with their first daughter Brandy. Linda’s first job was working at the Tulia Child Development Center. She was a Girl Scout Leader and was an active Band Booster Parent. She managed Allsup’s Convenient Store and was an assistant manager at Sonic for many years before her health declined. She was involved with her children and grandchildren with any school activities.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Culifer and Margaret Pierce; her stepfather, Billy Pierce; her uncle, Bud “Spider” Watkins; her siblings, Connie Pierce and Bendee Pierce.

She is survived by her husband, Kelly Hayhurst of Tulia; her daughters, Brandy Hayhurst and husband Alvin Rodriguez of Tulia, Margaret Hayhurst and Oscar Shorten of Lubbock, Samantha Baggett and husband Brett of Tulia, Weslyn Hill and husband Ethan of Albuquerque, NM, and Dakota Hayhurst of Tulia; her Aunt, Lena Watkins of Tulia; one brother, Cody Pierce of Oregon; her sisters, Tina Wright of Odom, TX, Ronda Fore of Tulia and Tammy Lewis of Virginia; her in-laws, Wesley Hayhurst and wife Joann of Tulia, eight grandchildren, Alexus Perkins, Cierra Perkins, Kelly Perkins, Braxton Smith, Logan Smith, Steele Baggett, Arabella Baggett and Bennett Hill; one great-grandchild, Emery Solis and many fur grand babies. As well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
