Lucy Kay Pritchard, 88, passed away on March 7, 2021 in Plainview, Texas. A celebration of life will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Northwest Church of Christ with J Henderson and Hugh Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview.
Kay was born on December 11, 1932 to Julia and Robert Roy Clements and grew up in Providence, Texas before moving to Plainview in 1948. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1950 and attended North Texas State University. She returned home and married Troy Dale Pritchard on July 21, 1951. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, Mama Kay and friend. Kay was a member of Northwest Church of Christ where she was an active member and enjoyed opening her home to host showers for young brides and new babies. She was also a member of the Jr. Service League, numerous bridge clubs and social clubs. Kay loved to travel and spent many years traveling with Troy in their motorhome across the United States. After Troy passed away, she enjoyed traveling with a large group of special friends. Another one of her great loves was being a grandmother. In most recent years, watching her great grandchildren play brought her the most joy.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Julia and Roy Clements and her husband, Troy Pritchard.
She is survived by her daughter Pam Mock and husband Jim of Plainview; her son, Kip Pritchard and wife Toni of Lockney; three granddaughters, Raime Pritchard, Lindsay Mock Cooper and husband Joey and LaShay Pritchard; six great grandchildren, Raisa, Taylor and Dax Henke, Miles and Ellis Cooper, Boston Pritchard and a large extended family.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude towards all of the staff at Santa Fe Place who lovingly cared for her over the past eight years, to Area Community Hospice for their assistance during her final days, and to Dr. Lara and his staff for their compassion and care.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Northwest Church of Christ or Area Community Hospice.
