Lupe Diaz (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Lupe Diaz, 72 went to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, June 14, 2020. She was born to Encarnacion and Emma Castillo on August 25, 1947 in Elsa, Texas. Lupe married Johnny Gonzalez Diaz and had four children. They were married for 17 years before he passed in 1980. Lupe LOVED to cook and make lots of tortillas. She also loved to go to garage sales with the girls. She enjoyed family gatherings and making memories. Lupe made everyone laugh with her stories and jokes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter: Sandra Dee Diaz and three brothers: Encarnacion Castillo, Jr., Jesus Castillo, and Ricardo Castillo.

She is survived by three children: David Diaz and girlfriend, Shelly, Michelle Drake and husband Harold and Johnny Diaz, Jr., and wife Krystal. Her brothers and sisters: Juan Castillo, Natalia Diaz, Rosa Trevino, Maria Hernandez, Connie Rendon, San Juana Castillo, Ermelinda Rodriguez, Gloria Leal, Yolanda Rios, and Jose Luis Castillo, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Harold Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
