Luther David “Pop” Weiser 87 of Tulia, TX passed peacefully in his home November 1st, 2023, surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 4, 2023 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Pastor Brian West officiating. The burial will be held at a later date at Rogers Cemetery in Rogers, Arkansas. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 5:30 to 7:30 at the funeral home. He is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Avery Weiser of Rogers, AR., a grandson Logan Mabry and three brothers, Albert, Tony, and AD Weiser, his in-laws, Jim Bob and Lillie Taylor of Rogers, AR and Gene Requa of Topeka, KS. David was born in Rogers, AR on May the 11th 1936. He married Patricia Requa, May 24th, 1965, in Bentonville Arkansas. David proudly served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard. His duties in the service were mostly in Transportation. He proudly told the stories of the many dignitaries that he chauffeured. David was employed early on by Tyson Foods until 1979 when he moved his family to Tulia, TX. He then spent many years at Taylor Evans Seed Company and upon the end of his career with the seed company he was restless and found retirement was not for him and found employment with the City of Tulia. He very much loved his position and the people he worked with until his death. David loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, boating and collecting rocks from everywhere he traveled. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Pat Weiser “ole darlin” of Tulia, daughters, Darlena Mabry of Del City, OK. Marlena Brenner of Fayetteville, AR, three sons, Ed Weiser (Sandra) of Tulia, James Weiser (Bonnie) of Rogers, AR, Nathan Weiser (Lupe) of Tulia, brother-in-law Floyd Requa (Debbie), sisters-in-law, Brenda (Ted) Miller, Rebecca (Jason) Perkins and Marcia Hannon. His legacy will be carried on by his 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, his extended family, the Benard’s, and many, many lifelong friends.
