Mack Kellison Yates (Plainview)

Mack Kellison Yates, 60, of Plainview passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in Lubbock. A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the funeral home.

Mack was born on October 8, 1962 in Plainview, Texas to Glenn and Susan Yates. He married Buffie Michelle Thornton December 4, 2012 in Plainview, Texas. Mack graduated from Plainview High School in 1981. He was involved in Theatre, a member of the Bulldog Barker and was in the marching band. He attended Texas Tech University where he was a part of The Goin' Band from Raiderland and was a part of Ballet Lubbock. 

Throughout Mack's life he was Regional Manager for Roadhouse Steak House and Juan Pablo's Restaurants. In 2008 Mack moved back to Plainview to be closer to his mother. Mack finished his career as Operations Manager at Nutrien Ag Solutions where he enjoyed all the farmers, the Friday morning donuts and all the people he worked with.

He fought a courageous battle, never losing heart, fighting to the very end against Multiple Myeloma.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Susan Yates and his Father-in-law Ed Thornton, Jr.

Mack is survived by his wife, Buffie Michelle Yates of Plainview, Texas; his son Marcus Helton of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren, Matthew,  Khloe, Ryan, Marcus and Keenyn; Mother-in-law Karen Thornton; sister-in-law Tammy McWhorter (Eddie); brother in law Jody Thornton (Jill) and several nieces and nephews.
