Tulia, Texas—Maria Guadalupe Trevino, 74, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 12, 2018 in the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Eddy Helms officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the funeral home chapel with her son Rev. Richard Trevino officiating. She was born on January 8, 1944 in Mission, Texas to Santos and Olivia Basaldua. She grew up in Mission and Spur, Texas. She attended schools at Spur. She married Paul Trevino in 1961 and they moved to Tulia. She cleaned houses for a few years and then she received her CNA and worked at the Tulia Nursing Home for ten years and Swisher Memorial Hospital for 14 years before she retired. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her four sons: Paul Trevino of Tulia, David Trevino of Corpus Christi, Frankie Trevino of Tulia and Richard Trevino of Tulia, four brothers: Santos Basaldua, Jr. of Tulia, Rene Basaldua of Tulia, Armando Basaldua of Victoria and Jessie Basaldua of Plainview, four sisters: Gloria Sassenhagen of Tulia, Beatrice Villarreal of Tulia, Sara Medina of Amarillo and Sylvia Esquivel of Plainview, eight grandchildren: Rocky, April, Wesley, Erik, Tanya, Aaron, Frankie J. and Michael Ray and nine great grandchildren: Isaiah, Zachery, Jacob, Zaden, Aza, Arraya Brooklin, Addie Sky, Miranda and Caleb.
