Maria Martinez (Plainview)

Maria Martinez, 88, of Plainview passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, September 8, 2023 in the Kornerstone Chapel. A rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Kornerstone. Mrs. Martinez was born on March 21, 1935 in Donna, Texas to Nicasio & Refugia Felix. She enjoyed sewing, collecting jewelry, dancing, spending time with grandkids, scary movies and eating watermelon on the back porch. She was strong willed and determined. She would say "If you have a goal never let someone tell you you can't!" She was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Spur, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; all her siblings; her son, Pedro Martinez; her daughter, Maria Estella Sanchez; her granddaughters, Rosemary Sanchez and Clarissa Martinez and her grandson, Adrian Martinez. She is survived by her children, Jose Luis Martinez & wife Norma of Corpus Christi, TX, Mara Florinda Martinez of Amarillo, TX, Armando Felix & wife Demita of Denton, TX, Jesus Martinez & wife Maria Antonietta of McKinney, TX and Pablo Martinez of DeSoto, TX; twenty one grandchildren, forty nine great grandchildren and a few great great grandchildren.
