Maria Nunez De Pastrana (Tulia)

Maria Nunez De Pastrana, a cherished matriarch and beloved member of her family, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, at the age of 92. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 11:30 AM in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel, with Father Hector Madrigal officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. 

A prayer service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the chapel.

 Maria was born on November 15, 1932, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Catarino and Donaciana (Zubia) Nunez. She exhibited remarkable strength and resilience throughout her life. After marrying Manuel Pastrana, Maria worked tirelessly alongside him on their ranch and managed a small business store in Mexico. Although her formal education was limited, her innate intelligence and business acumen allowed her to forge meaningful connections with those around her. Maria was a woman of profound love, whose heart was forever dedicated to her family. She served as the glue that held her family together, constantly nurturing relationships and instilling a sense of unity among her loved ones. Her life's work was embedded in her unwavering commitment to her family, and she spent her final years surrounded by those she adored, providing love and guidance until her last breath.

 Maria Nunez De Pastrana's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched, as her kindness and love continue to inspire all of us. May her memory be a blessing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Catarino and Donaciana Nunez; her husband, Manuel Pastrana; her daughters, Martina Pastrana, Berta Pastrana, Guadalupe Pastrana, Maria Pastrana and Victor Pastrana; her sister, Juana Nunez.

She is survived by her children, Rosario Joven, Araceli Pastrana, Antonio Pastrana, Andres Pastrana and Mario Pastrana, her brothers and sisters, Jesus Nunez, Angelina Nunez, Alicia Nunez and Blasa Nunez, twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren. 

María Núñez De Pastrana, una querida matriarca y miembro amado de su familia, falleció pacíficamente el 15 de febrero de 2025, a la edad de 92 años. Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo el martes 18 de febrero de 2025 a las 11:30 a. m. en la capilla de Kornerstone Funeral Directors, con el padre Héctor Madrigal oficiando. El entierro se realizará en el cementerio Rose Hill bajo el cuidado de Kornerstone Funeral Directors de Tulia.

Se llevará a cabo un servicio de oración el lunes 17 de febrero de 2025, de 6:00 a 8:00 p. m. en la capilla.

María nació el 15 de noviembre de 1932 en Ojinaga, Chihuahua, México, hija de Catarino y Donaciana (Zubia) Núñez. Demostró una fuerza y resistencia notables a lo largo de su vida. Después de casarse con Manuel Pastrana, María trabajó incansablemente junto a él en su rancho y administró una pequeña tienda en México. Aunque su educación formal fue limitada, su inteligencia innata y su perspicacia para los negocios le permitieron forjar conexiones significativas con quienes la rodeaban.

 María fue una mujer de profundo amor, cuyo corazón estuvo dedicado por siempre a su familia. Ella sirvió como el pegamento que mantuvo unida a su familia, nutriendo constantemente las relaciones e inculcando un sentido de unidad entre sus seres queridos. El trabajo de su vida estuvo arraigado en su compromiso inquebrantable con su familia, y pasó sus últimos años rodeada de aquellos a quienes adoraba, brindándoles amor y orientación hasta su último aliento.

 El espíritu de María Núñez De Pastrana permanecerá por siempre en los corazones de aquellos a quienes tocó, ya que su bondad y amor continúan inspirándonos a todos. Que su memoria sea una bendición.

La precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Catarino y Donaciana Núñez; su esposo, Manuel Pastrana; sus hijas, Martina Pastrana, Berta Pastrana, Guadalupe Pastrana, Maria Pastrana y Victor Pastrana; su hermana, Juana Núñez.

Le sobreviven sus hijos, Rosario Joven, Araceli Pastrana, Antonio Pastrana, Andrés Pastrana y Mario Pastrana, sus hermanos y hermanas, Jesús Núñez, Angelina Núñez, Alicia Núñez y Blasa Núñez, veintidós nietos, treinta y nueve bisnietos y cinco tataranietos.
