Maria Salazar (Plainview)

Maria U. Salazar, 90, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 30, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in the Kornerstone Chapel with Father George Poonely officiating. Burial will follow in Ralls Cemetery in Ralls, Texas under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday evening in the Kornerstone Chapel.

Maria was born on May 25, 1930 to Crispin and Esmerihilda Diaz in Cotulla, Texas. She married Guadalupe Salazar on February 14, 1949 in Robstown, Texas. She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed playing Bingo and also loved making quilts and cooking for her family. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lubbock.

She was preceded in death by her husband Guadalupe Salazar; parents, a son, Adolfo Salazar; six brothers and sisters; 2 grandsons and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Maria is survived by her children, Juanita Hernandez of Plainview, Joe Salazar of Ralls, Maria Salazar of Ralls, Lucilia Salazar of Ralls, Yolanda Salazar of Ralls; 19 Grandchildren, 51 Great Grandchildren, 18 Great Great Grandchildren.
