Marilyn Kay Hayes, a beloved mother and grandmother of Plainview, TX passed away at the age of 75 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, at 10:00am with Kyle Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12th, 2024, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. Friends and family are invited to join the celebration of her life. Marilyn was born on February 5th, 1949, to Jack and Faye Jones in Plainview, TX. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1968. Marilyn married the love of her life, Royce Hayes, on September 6th, 1974. After tragically losing Royce in 2001, Marilyn dedicated her life to raising her two boys, Chad and Colby. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Plainview and an could often be found watching all of her “shows” on T.V. Marilyn was the epitome of a grandmother and her five grandchildren were her pride and joy. Marilyn trusted in God with all her heart and is rejoicing in His presence now. Marilyn was a bonus mom to many of her son’s friends and her home was always a gathering place filled with love and fun. Marilyn loved live music and dancing and there is no doubt that she is dancing right now with her beloved Royce in Heaven. Marilyn will always be remembered for her kind soul and loving heart. She loved her family dearly. “The pain of missing you is a beautiful reminder of the joy of loving you” -Dean Jackson Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Faye Jones of Plainview, TX; Husband, Royce Hayes of Plainview, TX; and brother John Jones of Sedona, AZ. Marilyn is survived by her sons Chad (Christie) Hayes and Colby (Amanda) Hayes of Lubbock, TX and grandchildren Reagan, Jameson, Whitten, Avery, and Hattie Hayes of Lubbock, TX.
