A southern lady in every sense of the word, Marsha was eloquent and soft-spoken, and loved by everyone who knew her. Born in Tulia, Texas on July 27, 1940, Marsha was beloved daughter of Marshall and Ida Pearl Smith, and the sister of Darrell, all who preceded her in death. In early years, Marsha loved cheerleading, and basketball, she adored her pastor at First Baptist Church in Tulia, and even enjoyed hanging out at Dip Street (if you know, you know) She graduated from West Texas university, enjoying all aspects, including being an active member of Zeta Sorority. In later years, Marsha had new interests, and she developed a love for the fine arts, especially the symphony, she was an active member of philanthropic projects, and she had a passion for gardening, coming naturally to her from her roots as a family of farmers. Her perfectionist nature led right into the perfect field of work as an outstanding paralegal for several prominent law firms, eventually landing her in the Dallas Fort Worth area, and she had an extra special love for working for the honorable Federal Judge Higginbotham. Marsha took her last earthly breath on the morning of January 8th, after complications from pneumonia, and is now rejoicing in the loving arms of her Savior. She will be missed terribly, but what an angel heaven has gained. Marsha is survived by her husband Hershel Pierce, stepchildren Kathy (Kurt) Kiefer, Phil (Debbie) Pierce, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, as well as sister-in-law Kathy Lust, and nephews, Zack and Ryan, and niece Tiffiny and their families. Visitation at Mulkey Mason, Lewisville 1:00 - 2:00 pm Friday, January 12, 2024, and Celebration of Life to immediately follow at 2:00 pm. A private burial and graveside service will be held in Tulia on January 17, 2024.
