Marshall Julius Ebeling peacefully passed away at home on Monday, June 29, 2020 at the age of 97. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2020 at the Happy Cemetery with Ernie McGaughey officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Marshall was born on November 17, 1922 to John Henry and Minnie Margaret Goettsch Ebeling. He married Wanda Dixon Ebeling on September 11, 1948 and was happily married for 64 years. They farmed and had four children in Hereford. They also lived in Canyon before moving to Tulia, where another child became part of the family. Marshall joined the United States Navy in February of 1942 and served until November, 1945. He was active in community affairs throughout his life. Marshall was Man of the Year in 2002. He was an active member in charitable and civic organizations including the Kiwanis Club, Salvation Army, Good Shepherd and he enjoyed being part of the Hornet chain gang. From July 11, 1965 to July 11,1995 Marshall and Wanda owned and operated the Spudnut Shop which later became The Donut Shop. Marshall was a member of the First Christian Church of Tulia and the First Presbyterian Church of Tulia most recently. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and five siblings. He is survived by five children: Stanley Ebeling and wife Dianne from Lubbock, Allan Ebeling and wife Labob from Georgetown, Traver Ann Clements and husband Jerry from Amarillo, Chet Ebeling from Cedar Park and Tim Ebeling from Tulia; seven grandchildren: Britni, Calli, Slayton, Jason, Chance, Colton, and Sidney and seven great grandchildren: Kinley, Brecklyn, Gracie, Teagan, Ann, Clara and Nova. The family suggests memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church in Tulia.
