Mary Katherine Duvall Cummings, 81, of Hale Center passed away on December 23, 2020. She was known as Mary Kay to her family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview, Texas with Dr. Kris Knippa, Area Representative at BGCT officiating. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 28, 2020 prior to the graveside at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
She was born on March 23, 1939 in Midlothian, Texas to Lloyd Lee and Verna Evelyn (Briggs) Duvall. She married her high school sweetheart, James “Jimmy” Louis Cummings on her birthday March 23, 1957. She was a member and a previous Sunday School teacher of the First Baptist Church of Hale Center. Mary Kay was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved piecing quilts and working in her yard. Mary Kay loved and supported her grandkids throughout her life. She was a member of Young Homemakers, an avid 4-H leader, and a long time member of the Pioneer Study Club in Hale Center.
She is survived by her son, Chris Cummings and wife Jane of Hale Center; her daughters, Renee Hrbacek and husband Ricky of Lockney, Donna McCarter and husband Barney Bill of Lockney; her brothers, Cecil Duvall of Grapevine, TX, Don Duvall and wife Jan of Davis, OK; seven grandchildren, Brad and Jamie Cummings, Michelle and Steve Post, Janee and Brandon Harrison, Karah and Josh Krueger, J.Paul and Jordan Hrbacek, Dahlen and Allyssa McCarter, Daryn and Morgan McCarter; fourteen great-grandchildren, Brice, Colt, Cade, Harper, Renee, Kelby, Mason, Katie, Merick, Behrett, Maevery, Blakely, Callan, and Slade.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Verna Duvall and her husband, Jimmy.
Memorial contributions may be sent the Pioneer Study Club, Hale Center Library, 609 Main Street , Hale Center, Texas 79041.
