Mary Ann Martinez (Plainview)

Mary Ann Martinez (67) of Plainview, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 7th, 2023. A rosary will be held in honor of Mary Ann at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10th. A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11th. Her burial will follow the service at the Plainview Cemetery.

 

Mary Ann was born in Greeley, Colorado on July 22nd, 1955 to Efrain and Natividad Lopez. She was the oldest of 9 children. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed learning about the bible and building her relationship with God. Mary Ann was well known in the community for her constant service through the church as a Guadalupana, a faithful member of the Altar Society, a Eucharistic Minister, a CCE Teacher, and a volunteer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church’s office and thrift store.

 

She is survived by her husband, Rudy Martinez; her son Rudy Jr. and wife Andrea Martinez; her son Eric and wife Destina Martinez; her 12 grandchildren, Victoria Martinez and Nathan Peltier, Malachi Martinez, Kaylynn Ortiz, Kaitlyn Martinez and Seth Cook, Justin Ortiz, Joshua Martinez, Amanda Martinez, Lillie Martinez, Aaron Martinez, and Amari Martinez; her 2 great-grandchildren Hudson Peltier and Sirius Salinas. She is also survived by her mother, Natividad Lopez, and 8 siblings.

 

She is preceded in death by her father, Efrain Lopez, and her nephew, Michael Lopez.
