Mary Stovall (Tulia)

Kress, Texas—Mary Stovall, 85, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in the First Baptist Church of Kress with Rev. Will Fish officiating. Burial will follow in Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mary was born on October 1, 1932 in Amarillo to Chester and Ida Turner. She attended grade school in Amarillo and graduated from Kress High School. She worked for Johnny’s Butane for a short time. She married Buddy Stovall on May 26, 1951. They moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee while Buddy served in the military for four years and they returned to Kress. She ran a flower shop out of her home for a number of years. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Billie Hales and Netha Stewart and a grandson: Jeff Stovall. She is survived by her husband: Buddy Stovall of Kress, one son: Gary Stovall and wife Amy of Hereford, one daughter: Gina Burdette of Hereford, one brother: Mike Turner of Tulia, one sister: Yvonne Savage of Kress, six grandchildren: Keleigh Stovall of Hereford, Jody Stovall of Amarillo, Missy Jewkes and husband Jared of Kress, Mendy Pesina of Hereford, Macy Myers of Gardendale and Amber Mills of Lubbock and four great grandchildren: Cutter Jewkes, Kraegan Pesina, Kadance Pesina and Kenleigh Pesina.Memorials may be made to the Kress Cemetery Association Online condolences may be made at www.kornerstonefunerals.com.
