Mary F. Wood (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Mary F. Wood, 86, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 in Lubbock. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mary was born on January 9, 1932 in Marlow, Oklahoma to Jimmy Lee and Blanche Ball. She grew up in Marlow until they moved to Tulia in 1951. She married Bill Wood on March 8, 1948 in Crowell, Texas. She was a housewife but also worked at Omar’s Café, El Camino Restaurant and she was a cook for Friends Convenient Store until she retired. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters. Her family includes one daughter: Betty Hancock and husband Tracy of Lubbock, two sons: Jerry Wood and wife Joan of Ralls and Billy Wood and wife Frances of Lubbock, four sisters: Billie Bergt of Mesquite, Freeda Holbrook of Wichita Falls, Joy Hughes and husband Tommy of Bedford and Frankie McCraw and husband Odell of McKinney, 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren.
