Maurice Lee Johnson (Plainview)

Maurice Lee Johnson, 90 of Plainview passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Joseph Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at the funeral home. Mr. Johnson was born on October 13, 1931 in Bladen County, North Carolina to Marshall Lee & Mattie Bell (Taylor) Johnson. He married Geneva Ruth McCutchan on June 23, 1956 in San Angelo, TX. He retired from the United States Air Force as a SMSGT after 28 years of service. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Maurice is survived by his children, Marci Johnson & husband Joseph of Plainview, Russell Johnson of Plainview and Joe Johnson & wife Christy of Floydada; his brother, Emory C. Johnson of Scottsdale, AZ; his sisters, Joann S. Brendle of Clemons, N.C., Berniece Bass of Bladenboro, N.C. and Mable Britt of Bladenboro, N.C.; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Geneva R. Johnson; one son, James R. Johnson and a grandson, Brandon Blake Johnson.
