Maxine Searsy (Plainview)

Maxine Searsy, 89, of Kress died on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 18, 2018 at Kress Cemetery with Jerry Bevill officiating. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. A visitation will be held 5:30 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Kornerstone. Maxine was born in Slaton, Texas on October 12, 1928 to Marvin and Edna (Cox) Thomas. She attended school in Roosevelt, Texas. She married Eugene Searsy on April 18, 1946 in Lubbock, Texas. Maxine taught Bible school at Kress Church of Christ where she was a member. She loved sports, but especially enjoyed following her kids and grandkids playing sports. She was a great cook and was known for her volunteer work at Senior Citizens and honored as a past volunteer of the year. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two great grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Lowell Don Searsy and wife Janie of Brownfield, Texas, Larry Dale Searsy and wife Delores “Pete” of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
