Tulia, Texas—Mearl Ann Kelly, 65, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Matthew Veals officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mearl was born on November 5, 1952 in Hillsboro, Texas to T.W. Weakfall and Ira Lee Contie. She married Fred Oscar Kelly, Sr. in 1982. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2009. Mearl was a dedicated mother and grandmother who was a strong independent woman. She was loved by her family members and friends. She attended City Church with Rev. Matthew Veals for many years. Her hobbies were coloring books, puzzles, drawing and word searches. She will be missed by many of her friends and family. Mearl is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by five daughters: Billie Ray, Nicole Kelly, Patricia Kelly, Gwendolynn Kelly, and Charity Kelly; three sons: Fred Kelly, Jr., Eric Dawayne Kelly, Laray Kelly; one brother: Leon Jackson; one sister: T’ella Brown; 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
