Meliton Carrasco (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Meliton Carrasco, 85, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Tulia, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2018 in the Central Church of Christ with Pastor Jose Limas and Mr. Delfino Ruiz officiating. Cremation services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Meliton was born on April 1, 1933 in San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico to Canuto and Josefa Carrasco. He migrated to the United States in 1951 when he was 18 years old. He married Raquel Saldana in 1962 in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a horse trainer in Ruidoso, New Mexico for many years.  Meliton was great with his hands, making anything crafty.  He will be remembered as a patient person, making jokes and had a sense of humor that was the laugh of the party.

Meliton is preceded in death by his parents; his sister: Manuela Carrasco; one great grandson; Isaac M. Bute.

He is survived by his wife; Raquel Saldana Carrasco of Portales, NM; four sons; Milton Carrasco Jr. & wife Christine of Albuquerque, NM; Juan Carrasco & wife Elsa of Tulia, TX; Michael Carrasco & wife Laura of Canton, OH; Saul Carrasco & wife Irma of Ft. Worth, TX; three daughters: Annabell Carrasco & husband Raul Hernandez of Midland, TX, Josie Carrasco of Tulia, TX and Norma Irene Carrasco & husband Alejandro Garcia of Tulia, TX; one brother: Macario Carrasco of Mexico; four sisters; Paulita Acosta of Andrews, TX; Marianita Carrasco of Plano, TX; Bertha Carrasco of Mexico and Olga Carrasco of Mexico; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
