Melody Kay Lilley (Tulia)

Nazareth, Texas-Melody Kay Lilley, 40, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 in Nazareth. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Deacon Bob Birkenfeld officiating. A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery in Nazareth, Texas. Funeral services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Melody was born on July 24, 1980 in Tulia, Texas to Dennis Lee and Lisa Ann (Childress) Farley. She graduated from Valley High School in 1998 and after graduation she attended South Plains College where she received her Associates Degree in Education. She also went to West Texas A&M for a year and later went to work at the Bill Clements Correctional Facility. She transferred to the Tulia Unit TDCJ as an Education Boss and ACA Officer, until her retirement. Melody met the love of her life while working for TDCJ, Johnny Brent Lilley and they were married on March 13, 2013 in Dimmitt. Melody was spoiled by Brent as they traveled and did many events together. She had a green thumb for gardening and loved playing the piano. The love she had for her dogs Shatze and Ruby was unconditional. Melody was loved by everyone who met her and was an amazingly strong person. She fought the good fight until the end.

She is preceded in death by her step-son; Kevin Lilley.

She is survived by her husband; Johnny Brent Lilley of Nazareth, her parents; Dennis and Lisa Farley of Quitaque, her brothers; Vance Farley, his wife Angela and daughters Jazmin, Lily and Violet Farley all of Savannah, TX, Randy Farley of Quitaque and Mitchell Farley and wife Paige of Canyon, one step-daughter; Jennifer Medrano of Dimmitt, her grandchildren, Aria Lilley of Nazareth, Mallory Laurent, Amrah Laurent, and Liam Medrano all of Dimmitt, one great grandchild; Zavien Ortega, and a host of cousins and friends.
