Mildred G. Mayberry, 100, of Plainview passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in Plainview. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Garden of Memories in Paducah, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mildred was born on December 3, 1918 in Ada, Oklahoma to James Thomas and Dora (Bottoms) Sweeney. As a toddler, her family moved to King County in a covered wagon. She grew up in Paducah where her father owned and operated Sweeney Grocery where she worked. She married W.P. “Sonny” Mayberry May 15, 1937. She went back to school when in her fifties to become a nurse. She worked as an LVN at Richards Memorial Hospital and the nursing home in Paducah. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, W.P.”Sonny” Mayberry, her sons, Thomas Mayberry and Walter Mayberry and her three bothers and three sisters. Mildred is survived by her daughter-in-laws, Barbara Mayberry, Nellie Mayberry; her grandchildren, Tammie Mayberry, Lea Stukey, Keith Mayberry, Brenda Bayley, Becky Watson and James Castle; her great grandchildren, Sarah Walker, Kendra Stukey, Macey Mayberry, Stephanie Stukey, Kole Mayberry, Seth Mayberry; and her sister, Mary Edith Hill.
