Tulia, Texas—Milton E. Dovel, 87, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 4, 2019 in the Central Church of Christ in Tulia with Mr. Tim Johnson and Mr. Bob Colson, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
Milton Eugene Dovel was born on June 13, 1931 in Clovis, NM to Lloyd and Velma Dovel. He graduated from Tulia High School. He married Lanelle Copeland on May 31, 1952. He was a self employed farmer for many years. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army. He served on many boards during his farming career. He was a member of Central Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister: Clodell Cook, his brother: Nelson Dovel and his son: Timothy Eugene Dovel.
He is survived by his wife: Lanelle Dovel of Tulia, Two Sons: Mark Dovel and wife Sedona of Odessa and Joe Paul Dovel of Amarillo, two daughters: Mary Beth Green and husband Randy of Lubbock and Mendy Taylor and husband Scott of Lubbock, his daughter-in-law: Debra Dovel of Lubbock. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter.
We can never express in these few sentences our dad’s life and those lives he touched with nothing more than a good joke and a smile. He loved his bride and children more than life itself, and he was quick witted and always brought laughter to everyone he met.
