Nancy Mae Wittner (Plainview)

Nancy Mae Wittner passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 96. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas with Roger Foote officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Nancy was born on December 5, 1928 in Mission City, Oklahoma to parents Bennie and Lillian Emerson. She grew up in the Maple area and married Adolph Wittner on September 12, 1944. Together, they built a beautiful life and family on a farm in Maple, Texas. She attended Jessie Lee Cosmetology School and spent many years as a hair stylist caring for the people in her community. Nancy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an active member in many churches and community organizations over the years, including Three Way Baptist Church, Muleshoe Baptist Church, and the Muleshoe Senior Citizens Center.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Adolph; her parents, Bennie and Lillian; and her siblings, Wilma Nitcher, Dorothy Neutzler, and Jim Emerson. 

Nancy is survived by her two daughters: Sharyn Flowers and husband Larry of Edwards, MO, Kathy Vaughan and husband Baxter of Lubbock, TX, grandchildren; Jodi Barb and husband Nathan, Cody Flowers and wife Renee; Cameron Vaughan and wife Jessica; Caitlin Thurman and husband Ryan; and six great grandchildren: Justine, Jaylyn, Ty, Clay, Ian, and Adam. 

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the caretakers at the Running Water Draw Care Center in Olton, Texas. Their dedication and care were such a blessing.
