Neva "Granny" Sorrells (Tulia)

Neva “Granny” Sorrells, 90, of Tulia passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 19, 2024 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mrs. Lee Moore and Mrs. Dee Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 18, 2024 at the funeral home. Neva was born on March 5, 1934 in Cottle County, Paducah,Texas to James and Lillie (Nash) Blount. She graduated from Paducah High School in 1951. After graduating high school, she worked for Isabell's Drug Store. She married M.B. Parks and later moved to California. Neva attended Southwest Business College in Plainview, Texas and graduated in 1958 and became a court reporter for many years. In 1960 she married Jesse Sorrells. Neva worked as a bookkeeper for Tom Carlisle and her proudest career accomplishment was working for the Swisher Cattle Company for forty-four years and retired on July 10, 2012. Granny loved to crochet and was very talented at making afghans and made 100+ of them for her family and grandchildren, as well as many friends and extended family. Neva loved watching sports, looking at her cattle and especially watching Kolton rope. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Lillie Blount, her husband, Jesse Sorrells, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her children, Jan Roper of Tulia, TX, Diane Campbell and husband Foy of Marble Falls, TX., Priscilla Ford and husband Earl of Bowie, TX and Elmo Sorrells and wife Gay of Tulia, TX, one sister, Anne Siria of Seattle, WA., fifteen grandchildren, Chad, Stacy, Cory, Craig, Foy Jr., Cassie, James, Joy, Shaye, Steven, Tausha, Nicki, Kristi, Jayme and Clayton, twenty-six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
