Tulia, Texas—Noemi Maciel, 67, died Friday, August 7, 2020 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 10, 2020 in the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Harold Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Because of the nature of COVID-19 masks and social distancing, are required at all times.

Noemi was born on March 5, 1953 in Brownfield, Texas to Vicente and Maria Louisa Chapa. She lived in several states before moving to Silverton in 1974. She married Jesus Maciel on January 5, 1974 in Tulia. They moved to Tulia in 1991. She worked for Tulia Schools for 15 years. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Tulia.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter: Graciela Carbajal.

She is survived by her husband: Jesus Maciel of Tulia, her children: Abel Maciel and wife Amber of Tulia, Jessica Medellin of Tulia, Maria Louisa Maciel of Tulia and Sylvester Maciel and wife Raquel of Tulia. She also raised three grandchildren: DJ Maciel, Mercedes Ypina and A.J. Sanchez. She is also survived by her siblings: Noe Chapa of Alaska, Rebecca Cruz of Wichita Falls, Nora Cruz of Houston, Elia Rodriguez of Tulia, Rachel Garcia of Tulia, 23 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
