Pam Jones (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Pam Jones, 81, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 23, 2021 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. John Gillespie officiating and Charles Davenport assisting. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM in the Slaton Englewood Cemetery in Slaton Texas. Funeral services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Pam was born on October 25, 1939 in Pampa, Texas to J.J. and Pauline (Owens) Maxey. They moved to Slaton when she was a young girl. When she was in high school, she enjoyed singing and playing basketball.  She graduated from Slaton High School in 1958. She married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Jones that summer after graduation. They moved to Tulia in the early 1960’s where she worked for Taylor Evans Seed Co. for many, many years as the financial secretary. Before retiring she also worked for Swisher Memorial Hospital in the finance department. She loved being a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter; Jamie Lynn Jones, one sister; Paula Hudgins.

She is survived by her daughter; Robin Nelson and husband Kevin of Tulia, her grandchildren; Jonathan Nelson and wife Megan of Lubbock, Nick Nelson and wife Samantha of Nazareth and Shelbi Thompson and husband Will of Tulia, her great grandchildren; Laikyn, J. Brant, Hayes, Lyndall, Jett and Preslee.
