Pansy Kirk Tullis (Plainview)

Pansy Kirk Tullis, 85, passed away on Thursday July 12, 2018, in Idalou, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 16, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Petersburg with Michael O’Donnel officiating. Burial will follow in the Petersburg Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 4 to 6 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview.

Pansy was born on January 27, 1933 to Andrew Francis and Laura Jane Byrd in Petersburg, TX. She attended schools in Petersburg. She married Acie Billy “Big” Kirk on July 16, 1949. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1992.   She worked at Blue Star Elevator, and later as a Mail carrier. She also worked as a Crop Insurance adjuster and agent for several years. She was a member of the Petersburg First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She had many hobbies that included tennis, dominoes, bridge, and painting. She was currently a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church and the Lions Club.

Pansy married Ronald Tullis on January 30, 1998.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Tullis; four daughters, Charlotte Robertson and husband Burton Wayne “Fud” of Idalou, LaFonda Stephens and husband Hoyt of Petersburg, Trina Fullingim and husband Bryan of Petersburg, and Pam Horney and husband Scott of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. With marring Ronald she was blessed with an additional family of 2 children, 7 grandchildren, and 9 step great-grandchildren.

Pansy was preceded in death by her first husband, Big Kirk; parents, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

The family suggests memorials to the Hospice of Lubbock, First Baptist Church in Petersburg or First Baptist Church in Abernathy.
