Phillip Hubbard (Tulia)

Phillip Hubbard, 82, of Silverton passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024. A cremation graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Silverton Cemetery with Rev. Lamar McBride officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia, Texas.

Phillip was born on July 31, 1941 in Fort Worth, Texas to Ted Hubbard and Elsie Stakely. Phillip started driving trucks at a young age and later owned his own trucking business “Phillip Hubbard Trucking” for 68 years until his eyesight forced him to retirement. He married Kathi Perkins on February 24, 1970. He was a born and bred truck driver and was mechanically inclined. He was asked by people for advice when it came to trucking and he could often figure out what was the problem over the phone. Phillip was known as Teddy Bear and was a great man who never met a stranger. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ted Hubbard and Elsie Stakely; his son, Stoney Hubbard; his brothers, Bobby Gaddis, Ted Hubbard and Brian Hubbard.

He is survived by his wife, Kathi Hubbard of Silverton; his son, Teddy Hubbard of Silverton; six grandchildren, AJ, Kaison, Taylor, Shea, Peyton and JJ; and four great grandchildren.
