Pola “Pauline” Cordova, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, February 1, 2025 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery. Funeral services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
A rosary will be held at 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, January 31, 2025 in the Kornerstone Chapel.
Pola was born on April 8, 1940, in Mosquero, New Mexico, she was the beloved daughter of Juan and Lucy (Pacheco) Montoya. On January 3, 1957, she tied the knot with Bert Cordova in Roy, New Mexico, and together they built a beautiful life.
Pauline spent 57 wonderful years in Tulia, Texas, where she became a beloved member of the community. As a devoted member of the Catholic Church, she served as a Guadalupana, always sharing her heart with those around her. Pauline worked for Tulia Independent School District (ISD) for 12 years before retiring in 1990. She also worked at El Camino Dining Restaurant and Royal Park Fashions, where she helped people find the perfect women's clothing. Her caring nature shone through as she provided support as a caregiver for Home Health Care.
Pauline had many passions, including arts and crafts, sewing, and crocheting beautiful blankets. She loved settling down to watch her favorite western movies and Novelas (soap operas). She was known for her big heart, always cheering on her children and embracing them in every decision they made. Pola's unwavering faith in the face of life's challenges fortified her spirit and inspired those around her. She approached each obstacle with grace and resilience, embodying a strength that will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Lucy Montoya; her husband, Bert Cordova; her daughter, Florence Cordova; her sons, Alfredo T. Cordova, William D. Cordova and Gerald Cordova; her siblings, Floyd Montoya, Ida Salas, Lynn Montoya, Mary Lou Montoya and Pat Montoya.
She is survived by her children, Susie M. Cordova, Lucy Cordova, Norman Cordova and wife Patty, and Archie Cordova and wife Tish; her siblings, Toni Montoya, Phillip Montoya, Martha Montoya, Johanna Tanillo, twenty-eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and 14 great, great grandchildren.
