Ramona Mallow (Plainview)

Ramona Rousser Mallow, formerly of Plainview, joined her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Ramona was born on October 16, 1929 to her loving parents, George and Edna Rousser in Kress, TX.  She cherished growing up on the family farm west of Kress and graduated from Kress High School in 1947.  After high school, she attended Lippert’s Business College and later worked for the USDA-FSA for 36 years. She thoroughly enjoyed her job and being able to work with and for all the farmers in Hale County. Ramona married Austin Mallow in 1961 and he preceded her in death in 1969. She was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church, served as a board member of the Plains Federal Credit Union, NARF and was also named Woman of the Year in 1990. After retirement, she volunteered in Plainview as a Pink Lady and the City of Plainview’s RSVP’s.  She was an avid Texas Tech, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Ranger sports fan enjoyed several cruises around the world with family and friends.  Her passionate hobby was cooking which she shared generously with many friends in the community. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings Frederick Rousser, Margarite Bowman, Othella Jones, Winfred Rousser and Inez Rousser. She is survived by her two sons, Gary (Zandra) Cartwright and Greg (Brenda) Cartwright, all of Lubbock, four grand children, Chad (Allison) Cartwright of Lubbock, Neil (Adrien) Cartwright of Fishers, Indiana, Amanda (Kyle) Warner of Rockwall and Ashley (Lee) McDaniel of Dallas. She is also survived by eight great grand children, Caleb and Emma Cartwright, Ava and Brady Cartwright, Maggie and Reid Phillips, Jack McDaniel and Berkeley Warner. Visitation will be at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, TX from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Sunday, February 11, 2018 and Services will be officiated by Kyle Brock at 2:00pm on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church in Plainview. Pallbearers will be Rick Rousser, Doug Rousser, Kelly Jones, Scott Jones, Robbie Mason and Todd Mason. Honorary pallbearers will be Weldon Jones and Cleve Rousser. Memorials, in lieu of flowers can be made to Grace United Methodist Church at 3333 W. 11th St., Plainview, TX. 79072 or to Kress Cemetery at P.O. Box 1194, Kress, TX.  79052. The family of Ramona wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Raider Ranch, Lubbock, TX. where she resided for the past 6 years and Area Community Hospice, Plainview, TX.
