Raul Ibarra (Plainview)

Raul Ibarra, 81, passed away on November 5, 2021 in Plainview, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with father Bill Anton officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park.

A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 6 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.  

Raul was born August 10, 1940 in Emilian Zapata, Durango Mexico to Gabriel and Petra Ibarra. He married Silvina Garcia on January 12, 1964 in Emiliano Zapata, Durango Mexico and they moved to Plainview, Texas in 1965. He worked for Walker Brothers, Mitchell Malouf Farms and retired from Attebury Grain. Mr. Ibarra was active in the Cursillistas and was very devoted to the Virgin de Guadalupe.

Raul is preceded in death by his parents, Gabriel and Petra Ibarra; one son, Mariano Ibarra; two sisters, Norma Alvarez Ibarra and Carmela Moran Ibarra.

He is survived by his wife, Silvina Ibarra of Plainview; nine children, Petra Ibarra of Lubbock, Elsa Graciano of Dallas, Javier Ibarra of Plainview, Gavino Ibarra of Plainview, Rosa Ibarra of Plainview, Silvia Mendoza of Plainview, Lilia Delgado of Plainview, Raul Ibarra, Jr. of Grand Prairie and Angie Garcia of New Mexico; twenty-five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Jesus Ibarra and one sister Luciana Ibarra.
