RB Martin (Plainview)

RB Martin, 90, of Petersburg passed away on August 25, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 30, 2021 at Petersburg Cemetery in Petersburg, Texas with Ellis Dean officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

A visitation will be held 3:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday, August 29, 2021 in Kornerstone Chapel.

He was born October 29, 1930 in Petersburg, Texas to Rufus B. Martin, Sr. and Lois (Smith) Martin. R.B. grew up in Petersburg.  He married Nadine Wren on March 24, 1951 and she passed away on November 15, 1986. He later married Frances Rigsby on September 2, 1988 in Petersburg. He was a farmer and an all-around cowboy his whole life who loved horses and enjoyed dancing, roping and Bob Wills music. His family was his priority.

He is survived by his wife Frances Martin of Petersburg; his children, Larry Martin and wife Paula of Petersburg, Susan Maines and husband Rick of Lubbock, Vickie Juarez and husband Rick of Lubbock, Terry Martin and wife Angi of Olton; his sister, Corky Assiter and husband Ted of Lubbock; Frances’s children, Mark Nelson of Amarillo, Ron Nelson and wife Heather of Rocklin, CA, Toni Matlock of Acuff; ten grandchildren, Brent, Kyle, Pecos, Dusti Jo, Amanda, Beth, Sammie, Kendra, Brianna, Olivia; eleven great grandchildren and one on the way.
