Rena Faye Gardner (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Rena Faye Gardner, 49, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 12, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the Jackson Chapel Church of God in Tulia with Pastor David Haynes officiating and J.J. Thomas assisting. Funeral services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Rena was born on May 22, 1973, in Tulia to Robert Lee White and Ella Mae (Gardner) Muhammed. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1991 and later moved to Oklahoma City, where she lived for about 30 years. She came back to Tulia as a caretaker and always had a house full of children. Rena loved to cook and travel on the highway. Rena was a youth leader and a member at the Jackson Chapel Church in Tulia and loved to sing at church services and funerals for many years. Rena helped anyone in need with a smile on her face anywhere she went. She was special to many people. “I am a servant of God! I am living so I can Live again”

She is preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents: Tommy White, Gertrude Gardner, and Curtis Lee Roy Gardner.

She is survived by her children, Renijah Sledge and DeVondre Sledge, her best friend, Alvin Johnson, many brothers and sisters and her grandmother, Frankie Mae White.
